Fourth of July Boat Parade 2023

The 4th of July Boat Parade is a long-standing Lake Martin tradition, and it seems to grow every year.

Scores of boats slowly parade from Kowaliga Marina to Children’s Harbor in a festive and patriotic holiday display. Prizes are awarded for Tallest Flag, Largest Flag, Most Creative theme, and Most Patriotic Crew. Two prizes are awarded for each category.

First prize is a $150 Russell Marine gift certificate, and second prize is a $75 gift certificate.

Best Overall and Crew receives $500 in cash!

After 25 years away from the trumpet he picked it back up 12 years ago. In that short span he has played all over the country (Atlanta, New Orleans, Hollywood), has opened for the legendary Aaron Neville and has his own Pandora station “David Jones (Jazz) Radio”. Enjoy his smooth, soulful approach to the jazz genre of trumpet and vocals, playing everything from Sinatra to Carole King to originals and Chaka Khan.

OGS Wind Creek Bass Trail

OGS Wind Creek Bass Trail fishing tournament is Saturday, March 18.

Registration begins at 4:00AM in the store. $120.00 per boat. $10.00 big fish pot and a $10.00 Average Joe Pot (voluntary). There’s also a voluntary Big Spot Side Pot CASH ONLY for $10.00 the morning of the event. Total would be $140.00 for tournament minus the cash side pot. Registration can be made with cash or check the morning of the tournament or online here at Fishing Chaos. Anglers NEED TO SET UP a Fishing Chaos Ap to speed up registration.

$150 Top Adult/Youth (17 and under)
$150 Top Couple
Instructions: Boats will pass by the last dock in the order of entry. Look for the strobe lights and listen for the megaphone. Livewell doors need to be open for inspection as each boat passes by. Idle past the buoys and take off. Blast off is at safe light. Boats 1-25 First Flight (3:00PM weigh in). Boats 26-50 Due in at 3:15PM. 51-75 Due in at 3:30PM.

From festivals like 30A Songwriting Festival and Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion, to listening rooms throughout the United States, Ben and Kassie have been offering their own brand of raw Americana to audiences large and small.

WINNER of the 2022 Rocky Mountain Songwriter Contest and Finalists in the Kerrville Folk Fest 2021 New Folk Competition, the duo’s bold harmonies are clearly a channel for their highly charged songwriting.
